Welcome to Calvary Chapel Albany

Welcome to Children's Calvary
We believe in the next generation and we also believe that it's important to teach the fullness of God in every moment of our lives. Our curriculum is faith based with lessons about Christ and the Bible to help them better understand God's love and plan for their life. Our goal is to connect children with Jesus, as well as to a community of people who can encourage them in their faith.
Our Children's Ministry includes:
Nursery: Ages 0-Pre-k
Elementary Children: K-5th grade
Our Youth Group includes:
6th-12thgrade

What Parents Can Expect
Nursery and elementary ministry are offered during both Thursday and Saturday services. The kids will be dismissed after worship to their teacher and nursery kids taken to the nursery by parent/guardian.

We have two areas for classrooms in our building. Both are in the fellowship hall so it's close to parent/guardians.
Check-out occurs in each classroom, and we ask that one parent/guardian lines up for check-out to receive child.

A teacher will be at both check-in and check-out to help and answer any questions.

What Kids Can Expect
We have designed a biblical curriculum to engage kids with the gospel of Jesus and partner with their parents, so that we – the church and families – can raise the next generation of Jesus followers.
We use games, crafts, video lessons, and creative stories tailored to each age group to teach the message. We love to have a good time at church, but we don’t want to simply entertain children; we want children to learn about Jesus. We believe creating a fun environment for kids will help children learn to love and follow Jesus and create a space where kids can grow in their relationship with each other and our leaders.
Lessons about Christ and the Bible will be age appropriate and will help them understand God’s love and plan for their life.

Bathroom breaks are allowed on request of child or as needed in nursery. For our elementary class kids must be potty trained. A teacher will escort to and from bathroom for elementary school kids. Nursery will ask parents if they would like to be notified when their child needs to use the bathroom so they may come and help or if they give permission to nursery teachers to help or change a pee diaper only.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I bring my kids into the service with me?
Yes! Kids are always welcome to join the main service at any time.
Will my child be given a snack during class?
Depends on the day or occasion. If your child has food allergies, you are welcome to bring a snack from home.
What is the bathroom and diaper changing policy?
For our elementary classes kids must be potty trained; a teacher will escort your child to and from restroom. In our nursery the teacher will ask if you would like to be alerted when your child needs to use the restroom or has a dirty diaper. Nursery will only change number one diapers. There are diaper changing stations in the nursing room for parents to use at any time.
How are parents contacted if needed during service?
We have our dedicated deacons that help the teachers reach parents if and when their children need their assistance and want to be with them. They will kindly and quietly let you know during either service.
How do we provide safety for kids ministry classes?
Your child’s safety is our priority. We want parents to rest assured that their child(ren) are well cared for and safe while they are in service. We require a volunteer application and background check on anyone who serves with kids. There are always at least two adults in each classroom. And we have a secure check-out process to ensure children leave with the correct parent or guardian.
Can I nurse my baby during service?
Yes! We have a special room specifically set up for nursing moms and new babies. Check in with the nursery and the teacher will help you.
Leadership
Our Kids Ministry Directors lead a trained and dedicated team of volunteers who believe a relationship with Jesus Christ begins early in life. Together, we will help your child become a bright, positive, and magnificent light bringing hope to the world.
