“The bloodthirsty hate the blameless, but the upright seek his well-being”
Proverbs 29:10
The level in which we understand this verse has kind of a good guy bad guy outlook. The bloodthirsty have been among us from the beginning, and yes, we should always look to seek their well-being of the blameless. But this was not the case for our Savoir. No one looked to seek His well-being, all forsook Him. We find ourselves wondering why, or “if I was there, I would have done something about this! But no, we would have not been able to help Him. Why? Because this was not Gods plan. The Bible tells us key things about this time. First Romans 8:32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Second 2Corinthians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
Jesus took on Himself the sin of the b
loodthirsty or as Paul put it “to be sin for us” to turn the bloodthirsty into the blameless. The man who wrote these two verses knew this very well. As we go about our lives today let us think upon this great love of God for us who did not spare His own Son so we could be spared.
